Moving house is stressful.
But add in moving to another country, and not sure which country, and doing it with camels and donkeys – Abram’s problems had only just begun (later he was renamed by God to Abraham).
Yes, decisions, decisions.
Abram and all his family and possessions have to leave his familiar, possibly much-loved homeland and travel to a small unknown country.
Why? Because God told him to do it.
It would be dangerous and when they arrive, things get worse because there is a famine and they have to move to Egypt for a time.
When Abram trusted God completely he was able to get through all the impossible situations.
I started on my Faith Journey in 1976 whilst on my sandwich year from college.
Since then I’ve not been restrained to any one denomination – believing that local Church is always important. Through career moves and life changes this has enabled me to play a part in the Assembly of God Church, Elim, various New Church Groupings, Brethren, Anglican and Baptist Churches.
I am married to Jackie and we live in Cambridgeshire in the UK.
