Football Sketch

(Teachers note: You will need 2 small children, a neighbour, a parent and Monopoly money)
[THE TWO CHILDREN ARE PASSING A FOOTBALL TO EACH OTHER]

Child 1: Let’s see what damage I can do to that window!

Child 2: Don’t be stupid!

Child 1: What’s the matter with you! You’re not ‘chicken’ are you?

Child 2: [LOOKS AWAY]

Child 1: [KICKS THE BALL AND BREAKS A NEIGHBOUR’S WINDOW]

Neighbour: [ANGRY] Oi! That’s my window you’ve broken!

Child 1: [HANGS HEAD]

Neighbour: That’s a lot of money that is. It’s not ordinary glass you know! It will cost a fortune to repair that, and I want you to pay for it.

Child 1: [LOOK WORRIED] How am I going to pay for it?

Neighbour: That’s not my problem! I want this repaired now!

Child 1: But I can’t!

Parent: [WALK ON TO STAGE] I see that there is a problem here.

Neighbour: Yes, there certainly is a problem! My window has been broken by this child, and I want it paid for now!

Parent: [PUT HAND IN POCKET AND PULL OUT A BUNDLE OF MONEY] Here, this should cover all your expenses and pay for all the trouble this has caused you.

Neighbour: Thanks, that should more than cover it. No hard feelings then?

Child 1: and Parent: No. Bye!
