Having been on holiday every year since our wedding in 1955, I now had to decide how to go on holiday on my own.
I then went on various breaks with companies that catered for ‘singles’ (some not exclusively for singles).
One organisation was Christian Friendship Fellowship, now called Christian Singles Fellowship, which still arranges breaks away. [Editor: This is no longer functioning as it used to.]
I went on several HF Walking Holidays. They catered for different ‘grades’, so a particular holiday may do grades 1, 2 and 5 depending on how energetic you are!
I chose grades 1 or 2, so nothing too strenuous!
After Peter and Jackie got married, they lived in Needingworth for a year or so, before getting planning permission for a mobile home to be put on the nursery land at Bluntisham.
They could only stay there for a few years, and there was no guarantee that they would get planning permission for a permanent house on the site.
The picture above shows a new garden being constructed next to the mobile home.

On the 24th of July 2019, the day Boris Johnson became Prime Minister, Christine Reason passed away at home.
The funeral service was held at Bluntisham Baptist Church on Thursday 9th of January 2020 at 1pm.
The church was quite full and as the coffin was brought in draped with flowers, one of the great granchildren seeing the cut flowers suddenly said in a loud voice, “Mummy, the flowers are going to die!” That was very logical to him as there wasn’t a vase in sight!

- Hymn: ‘Crown Him with many Crowns’ by George Job Elvey, James Merrill Brickman, & Matthew Bridges.
- Committal and final prayers by Revd Tim Williamson.
- Recessional hymn: ‘All the Way my Saviour leads me’ by Fanny Crosby.
