What does God look like?
God is invisible and is not limited to a body because He is Spirit and is everywhere.
But the Bible describes Him as having eyes that look all around the world, hands to reach out to people, etc because we can then comprehend Him a little better.
What does God do?
The God in the Bible is seen as a creator God starting everything and He continues to sustain His creation.
God is also a Father and He wants us as His children.
Natural disasters are not caused by God, but early in the Bible He had to judge the world with a flood and also He rained down fire on Sodom and Gomorrah. Both judgments were because of their wickedness and they acted as a warning to us of when God will judge the world.
God is not distant from this world and He does at times intervene by warning super-power leaders, etc.
Can we know God?
The Bible tells us that God can be known and that He is approachable.
God’s desire for us is to be saved and brought to heaven.
We need to be within God’s family and Jesus describes this as being born again.
We cannot do this, it is God’s work, we surrender to Him and He makes us His children.
When we sin after that, God still loves us because we are His children.
